A member of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa, Zakłady Metalowe DEZAMET S.A., signed a contract with the Armaments Inspectorate to supply 155 mm HE shells. The contract is for the delivery of 24 thousand shells, including 6 thousand specialised base-bleed shells. The total value of the contract exceeds PLN 420 million, and the delivery is to be concluded by 2022.
The contract contains also rules and conditions to continue the process of establishing manufacturing potential in Poland for 155 mm shells, providing for serial production of shell casings, bases and supply of a complete shell from 2021 onwards. The previous contract on delivery munitions for Krab gun-howitzers was for 11 thousand units, and its last batch was delivered in 1Q 2019.
“Today's agreement is another confirmation of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa’s ability to meet the needs of the Polish army. We want to continue the process of providing ammunition to the Polish Armed Forces so that it is the highest quality ammunition produced in Poland, which will guarantee security of supply for the army. Ammunition produced in PGZ is a natural complement to modern systems produced there. And this agreement is a good example, because the ammunition will be used, for example, in the Krab self-propelled gun-howitzer from Huta Stalowa Wola. I am pleased that the complementarity of the offer of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa is appreciated by our army” said Sebastian Chwałek, Vice President of the Management Board of PGZ S.A.
