Subsequent step in HSW and Raytheon cooperation

Huta Stalowa Wola S.A., part of Polish Armaments Group and Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems, an American Corporation, signed a contract to begin production and integration of 16 M903 missile launchers, the basic elements of the Wisła air and missile defense system. Per the Foreign Military Sale (FMS) process, this signed contract will be reviewed and definitized in the coming months.

This is the milestone of the agreement with Raytheon for the integration and production of 16 Patriot system missile launchers within Phase I of the Wisła program. In October 2018 Raytheon placed an order in HSW S.A. for the preparations to perform the future agreement. This confirms the readiness of companies within PGZ - WISŁA Consortium to perform the program. This is one of many business contracts that are related to the implementation of this contract. The next in queue are domestic orders, among others for acquisition of JELCZ trucks.

- The signing of the contract marks the kick-off of missile launchers production in Poland, on which Wisła system will be based. Thanks to the cooperation with the American partners, Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa will become a part of the Patriot system supply chain. We are obtaining production capabilities allowing us to supply key equipment to the Polish Armed Forces, and in the future also to other clients – said Radosław Domagalski-Łabędzki, Member of the Management Board of PGZ S.A.

- Raytheon is partnering with Polish industry to grow the defense base - said Pete Bata, Raytheon Company’s Vice President of Polish Integrated Air & Missile Defense. -  HSW’s award is the first of many production contracts we will award to PGZ companies as they produce the Phase I WISLA system.

HSW S.A. and other companies comprising Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa will obtain, among others, technologies and know-how providing for a significant share in the production of launchers and their components within Phase I of Wisła program. The batteries delivered to Poland will be equipped with launchers manufactured by the domestic defense industry. The technology and know-how transfer will also allow to reduce costs incurred during the entire life cycle of the launcher systems, the maintenance and modernization of which will be the responsibility of companies within PGZ Group. Moreover, M903 launchers will be part of Patriot systems manufactured for other countries giving PGZ and Huta Stalowa Wola opportunities to compete for new orders.

Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) is a Polish industry leader and one of the largest defense groups in Europe. It comprises 63 companies and has shares in another 40 entities (across defense, shipbuilding and new technologies industries) and achieves annual revenue of PLN 5 billion. By the use of the potential of technology polonization, close partnership with Polish science and focus on the research and development, PGZ offers innovative security enhancing products.
