Tuesday, November 7th, saw the start of one of the most important arms industry events in Asia - Indo Defence 2018 in Jakarta, hosted by the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia. More than 850 exhibitors from 55 countries, including companies from the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ), participate in this fair. Polish companies such as Dezamet S.A., Fabryka Broni "Łucznik" Sp. z o.o., Rosomak S.A., Zakłady Mechaniczne Tarnów S.A., PGZ Stocznia Wojenna Sp. z o.o. and PCO S.A. exhibit at the joint stand of the Polish Ministry of National Defence and PGZ S.A.
In particular, in the case of PCO S.A. it should be emphasized that it is a company strongly associated with the region of Southeast Asia, where for the past few years it has been systematically supplying individual night vision products for counter-terrorist units. Moreover, as a result of the activities carried out in Indonesia over the past two years, PCO S.A. has established cooperation with one of the main players in the armaments sector - the state-owned arms manufacturer, PT Pindad (Persero).
For PCO S.A., participation in the Indo Defence trade fair is extremely important from the point of view of our current projects in the region. Our individual products have been highly rated among the operators of special units for years, and the laser radiation warning system SSP-1 OBRA-3 is present on a new Indonesian medium battle tank, presented at the PT Pindad stand. - said Łukasz Zaskurski, Head of Export Department at PCO S.A.
PT Pindad (Persero), based in Bandung, West Java, specialises in the production of a range of military vehicles, small arms and ammunition used by the Indonesian armed forces and other countries in the region. One of the most important projects that PT Pindad is currently working on is the new Indonesian medium battle tank MMWT - Modern Medium Weight Tank.
This is a result of PT Pindad’s cooperation with the Turkish FNSS Savuma Sistemleri A.S. and the Belgian CMI Defence. The vehicle uses a modern chassis developed by FNSS, also a CT-CV turret system from CMI with a Cockerill 105mm high-pressure gun. The program was initiated in 2014, and the first prototype publicly presented at Indo Defence 2016. In October 2017, the prototype vehicle took part in the Indonesian Armed Forces parade in Jakarta. At this year's edition of the fair, the exhibited tank is a version that successfully completed a series of field tests and certification tests, which paved the way to serial production.
A proof of the growing involvement of PCO S.A. in the Indonesian market is the signing on 8 November this year during the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) between PCO S.A. and PT Pindad (Persero). The signed document concerns the development of cooperation between companies in the area of optoelectronic systems dedicated to armoured vehicles manufactured by PT Pindad. The document was signed by the Director General of PT Pindad (Persero), Abraham Mose and Sales Director of PCO S.A., Marcin Janiszewski. The signing ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Director of the Defence Policy Department of the Ministry of National Defence, Mateusz Sarosiek, Defence Attaché of Poland in Indonesia, Colonel Leszek Słomka, Director of the International Trade Bureau of PGZ S.A., Mirosław Janicki and Łukasz Zaskurski from PCO S.A.
PCO S.A. is a leading Polish manufacturer of observation and targeting instruments with the use of laser, night vision and thermal imaging technology for the military and other uniformed services. The company's offer includes both individual equipment for soldiers and equipment for combat vehicles. PCO S.A. also conducts research, development and implementation works.
