From 9 to 12 October 2018 Kiev is hosting the 15th edition of the Arms & Security Expo. Just like each year, Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa is also participating in this event.
Arms & Security is the biggest event of this type held in Ukraine. It takes place a few days before the Defender of Ukraine Day that is celebrated on 14 October. Visitors to the Expo can familiarise themselves with different arms and military equipment offerings for land forces, civilian and military aviation, law enforcement, and border guard.
Ten PGZ companies will be attending the Expo this year. Radomska Fabryka Broni „Łucznik” will be presenting its firearms offering, including the Modular Firearm System GROT as well as BERYL assault rifles. The MSBS GROT C16 FB M-1 assault rifle is a modern personal firearm adapted for 5.56x45 mm ammunition. This system was adopted for standard equipment of the Polish Armed Forces in 2017. It is a completely Polish design whose modular structure enables creating several structural solutions based on its standard elements: barrel assembly, breech casing assembly, and slide assembly. On the other hand the BERYL is a reliable, accurate, durable, and atmospheric conditions-resistant personal automatic firearm, adapted for 7.62 x 39 mm ammunition. It is capable of continuous, single, and 3-bullet burst fire. The assault rifle is fed from a curved magazine with 30 bullets’ capacity. It has been designed for firefights over the distance of up to 600 m. It is also adapted for 40 mm under-barrel grenade launchers Mk 74 Pallad and SBAO.
The solutions promoted in Kiev by Zakłady Mechaniczne Tarnów include: light infantry mortar LMP-2017, SKW-308 7.62 mm automatic sniper rifle, and UKM-2000P universal machine gun.
The offering of PCO S.A. includes, among other things, the MU-3ADM personal night-vision goggles. It is an advanced, passive night-vision device designed for terrain surveillance in night conditions. They are compact and exceedingly light, robust and reliable in battlefield conditions, and they also offer outstanding detection, recognition, and identification parameters.
MESKO brought to Ukraine its GROM man-portable anti-air missile system that consists of a single-stage missile located in a pipe launcher, a firing mechanism, and a ground power unit. The missile is propelled by a solid-fuel engine and it is equipped with IR self-guidance system. The GROM is designed for destroying visually-observable airborne targets, including airplanes, helicopters, and other targets that emit radiation in the infrared band.
During the Expo, Maskpol will be presenting its Dromader integrated arms and equipment transport system, Dezamet will be offering different types of ammunition designed for cal. 40 mm grenade launchers, and Nitro-Chem, which is active on foreign markets, will be presenting its comprehensive offering of explosives.
One important area of potential co-operation with partners in Ukraine and elsewhere is servicing and retrofitting equipment manufactured by the former USSR and other countries of the former Eastern Bloc. Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze nr 1 will be presenting its offering concerning the repairs and retrofits of various Mi helicopters. Wojskowe Zakłady Uzbrojenia from Grudziądz are offering retrofits of the PRWB OSA (SA-8)SAM combat vehicle. Poznańskie Wojskowe Zakłady Mechaniczne will be presenting their retrofitted BWR-1S reconnaissance vehicle and the Power-Pack drive assembly for the new amphibious APC.
