One kilometre of ships on island

One kilometre of ships on island 21.12.2017

Despite difficult weather conditions Morska Stocznia Remontowa GRYFIA continues the repairs of several vessels. The total length of all ships exceeds one kilometre.

Once again Greek ship-owners are having the Szczecin shipyards repair their vessels with the works nearing completion. The Greek ship-owner, ROSWELL TANKERS CORP., brought its third ship this year to be repaired at the Polish shipyard. The m/t IERAX tanker is currently undergoing class repairs, with the primary works focused on the ship’s engine-room systems and on-board devices. This is an example of good relationships between a shipyard and a ship-owner.Several days ago the ICE EAGLE tanker departed from the shipyard after undergoing repairs at the Kaszubskie wharf. Thanks to its good relations with ST3 Offshore, MSR Gryfia may freely use this part of the island.

The STEALTH MARITIME is yet another ship of a different Greek ship-owner repaired at the shipyard this year. This time, instead of an LPG carrier the company decided to have MSR Gryfia take care of its LONE.STAR chemical tanker which is down for its third class repair. Many repairs were commissioned, in particular the works concerning the loading system, onboard equipment, and auxiliary devices of the engine-room.The shipyard is also currently conducting repairs of two tugboats: the Cougar and the Fairplay-26.Both vessels are undergoing works on their propulsion systems.

For Polsteam, the shipyard is carrying repairs of the IRMA and the MAZURY bulk carriers. The former came for a class repair, while the latter is currently undergoing emergency repairs. In addition to the above-mentioned vessels the Szczecin shipyard are also carrying out repair works on Żegluga Świnoujska’s Krasibór III ferry. The docks of the Świnoujście shipyards are carrying out repairs of the RUYTER and the SYLVIA owned by the Dutch Wagenborg Shipping.

Morska Stocznia Remontowa Gryfia is one of the most well-known shipyards in Poland and abroad. In addition to repairs and conversions of vessels of different types and sizes, the shipyard also erects steel offshore structures.MSR Gryfia has operated in this market for more than 15 years, supplying both residential modules and equipment structures for drilling platforms, as well as subsea structures installed on the seabed. The convenient location of the facilities in Szczecin and Świnoujście ensures easy and quick transport of the structures produced.
