On Wednesday, November 29, in the AUTOSAN factory in Sanok, in the presence of the Secretary of State in the Ministry of National Defense, Mr Bartosz Kownacki and a member of the management board of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa Mr Adam Lesiński, a contract was signed to supply 28 coaches for the Polish Army. The contract worth PLN 18 million has been concluded by and between AUTOSAN sp. z o.o. and 2. Regional Logistics Base from Warsaw. After signing the contract, the total number of buses and coaches contracted from AUTOSAN this year has already exceeded 120 units.
On November 16, 2017. 2. Regional Logistics Base (2 RBLog) announced the end of proceedings for the purchase of 28 coaches. The tender was won by AUTOSAN, a part of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa, with the possibility of delivering vehicles for PLN 18 million. The second bidder in the tender presented the offer which was more expensive by over PLN 3 million. The offer from Sanok was chosen, among other things, due to the low level of carbon dioxide emissions and high energy efficiency.
- Two years ago, the Law and Justice government decided to rescue AUTOSAN. We knew then that the plant would be a part of the Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa and would produce for the army. In the last few months, some media have tried to construct a completely untrue company image. Someone wanted AUTOSAN to not be here at all, someone did not want Polish buses to drive on Polish roads - said the secretary of state in the Ministry of National Defense Mr Bartosz Kownacki. The Polish army gets buses that meet all the requirements, while saving several million zlotys. In the coming years, the Polish army will need more than 200 buses and coaches. I hope that AUTOSAN will take part in these proceedings and wish it success - added Minister Kownacki.
The model offered by AUTOSAN is Lider 10. The list of additional bus equipment includes, among other things, an ABS, electrically heated windshield and cornering lights.
- PGZ put a lot of organizational and financial effort into making AUTOSAN able to start producing high quality buses again. Today, a contract with the army is signed, but the company is also increasingly visible in the civil market. Next year, we will focus on expanding the plant's production capacity, with particular emphasis on the possibility of building vehicles with ecological drives - said a member of the managing board of PGZ S.A., Mr Adam Lesiński .
AUTOSAN sp. z o.o. became a part of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa in April 2016. The company's shareholders are Huta Stalowa Wola S.A. and PIT-Radwar S.A. The main profile of its activity is the production of urban, suburban, intercity and special-purpose buses. Thanks to many years of experience, AUTOSAN buses are robust and economical, corresponding to the needs of passengers and carriers. The company's order backlog as of today amounts to over 120 buses, which will be delivered in 2018-2019.
The current dynamic development of the company would not have been possible without the support provided to the company by entities from the Group and PGZ SA itself. Huta Stalowa Wola S.A. and PIT- RADWAR S.A. gave the owner loans to Autosan in equal amounts of PLN 13.45 million. Another loan of PLN 13.5 million was provided by PGZ S.A., which also provided warranties for 2.1 million securing insurance bonds granted in connection with contracts concluded by AUTOSAN.
