AUTOSAN' comeback to European markets

AUTOSAN' comeback to European markets 21.11.2017

The electric buses produced by Autosan will go to the German market. The contract signed today is for the delivery of the first four low-floor city buses by the end of March 2018. This is yet another success of the Sanok-based company in the last quarter, which at the moment has a portfolio of orders for more than a hundred vehicles.

- The export contract signed today is a very important day in the company's history, the current dynamic development of the company enabled its incorporation into the structures of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa. I am very happy that after years of stagnation, Autosan is returning to European markets. I am convinced that the transaction finalized today is just the beginning of this path - said the chairman of the management board of PGZ S.A. Mr Błażej Wojnicz.

The subject of the contract are 12-meter low-floor SANCITY 12LF buses that will be equipped with BMZ batteries and the latest version of the ZIEHL-ABEGG drive axle with engines mounted in wheel hubs. Air conditioning and vehicle heating will use innovative technology based on heat pumps.

- Today's event has a historical dimension - for Autosan, it is the first export contract after a number of years and the first contract covering fully ecological electric buses - stressed Mr Michał Stachura, chairman of AUTOSAN sp. O.o.

The company ordering vehicles is German ebe EUROPA. - We were looking for a reliable partner who would be able to deliver a high quality product to European markets in a timely manner. We found such a partner in Sanok and I hope that this is just the beginning of a good cooperation - said Mr Udo Riese, sales director at eBE EUROPA.

Over the past three months AUTOSAN has won a number of orders, both for the civilian market and for the Polish Armed Forces. In mid-September, the company got an order for 12 booths for the Polish Army, intended for the development of the Mobile Digital Communications Nodes. On October 12, an agreement was concluded regarding the purchase and delivery of 11 SANCITY 10LF low-floor city buses to Starogard Gdanski, to be delivered in the first half of next year. Then the Rzeszów MPK decided to expand its fleet of AUTOSAN buses, ordering 10 pcs of urban low-floor AUTOSAN SANCITY 12LF buses. At the end of October, the Municipal Transport Company from Stalowa Wola as a part of the proceedings, decided to purchase six SANCITY 10LF buses.  The authorities of Przemyśl also trusted AUTOSAN - they bought 13 SANCITY 12LF city buses with diesel engines and 2 SANCITY 12LF CNG city buses fueled by CNG. AUTOSAN will also be responsible for the delivery of 28 buses for 2. Regional Logistics Base from Warsaw. Summing up, this year's order book covers a total of over one hundred vehicles that will be delivered in 2018.

AUTOSAN sp. z o.o.  became a part of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa in April 2016. The company's shareholders are Huta Stalowa Wola S.A. and PIT-Radwar S.A. The main profile of its activity still is the production of urban, suburban, inter-city and special-purpose buses. Thanks to many years of experience, AUTOSAN buses are robust and economical, corresponding to the needs of passengers and carriers.

The current dynamic development of the company would not be possible without the support provided to the company by entities from the Group and PGZ SA itself. Huta Stalowa Wola S.A. and PIT-RADWAR S.A., granted the owner loans to Autosan in equal amounts of PLN 13,45 million. Another loan totaling PLN 13.5 million was also provided by PGZ S.A., which also provided guarantees for 2.1 million securing insurance bonds granted in connection with contracts concluded by Autosan.
