On 20 October 2017, the official opening of extramural postgraduate studies in defence sector company management was held at the Faculty of Management and Command of the War Studies University. The event was attended by the Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defence Bartosz Kownacki and the representatives of PGZ’s Board of Directors: Błażej Wojnicz – President of the Board and Robert Gut – Member of the Board.
The post-graduate course in “Defence sector company management” has been organised and is conducted by the academic Institute of Management (Faculty of Management and Command of WSU) with significant contribution of entities and experts specialising in the above-mentioned field of study from, among others, the Department of Arms Policy of the Ministry of National Defence, theMilitary Centre for Standardization, Quality and Codification; the Quality Certification Centre of the Military University of Technology in Warsaw, as well as the PGZ-owned Central Military Bureau of Design and Technology – a model arms industry enterprise.
The course’s initiator and originator, the Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defence Bartosz Kownacki, was present at the official opening ceremony.The course’s curriculum has been prepares in such a way as to take advantage of the synergies offered by various academic, military, and business communities. It features both theoretical and practical classes, including but not limited to lectures delivered by the representatives of arms companies’ managerial staff (including those forming the PGZ Group) as well as study visits to companies.
Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa is currently working with a dozen or so Polish universities.The point of this co-operation between the PGZ Group and the individual academic centres is to work together on new technologies designed for us in military and civilian production.This joint work also includes co-operation during commercialisation of already created solutions, joint applications for financing of research and development projects, or promoting the results of the works conducted in academic and business communities.The agreements also pertain to joint organisation of internships and work experience trainings at companies forming the PGZ Group, and also open the perspective of creating new majors and new university and postgraduate courses.
