On 29 June 2017, Ośrodek Badawczo-Rozwojowy Centrum Techniki Morskiej (CTM), which is a part of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ), received the prestigious “Certificate of Recognition” from the directors of the Polish Register of Ships (PRS), which proves the high quality of CTM’s laboratory services. This certificate confirms the competencies of CTM’s research laboratories in the field of running environmental tests of ship equipment.
The aforementioned certificate is yet another proof of the important role played by CTM in the process of evaluating product compliance not only in the general field of defence and security, but also for the purposes of commercial studies and civilian ship owners.
Utilising its state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, for many years now, CTM has been running tests of devices, structures, and systems that cover, in particular, the fields of electromagnetic compatibility, the effects of environmental (mechanical and climatic) factors, the distribution of electrochemical potential of metal structures in electrolytic environment, product use safety, measurements of magnetic fields generated by technical mechanisms and devices, as well as OSH. In order to meet the expectations of its partners and clients, CTM has decided to expand the service offering of its laboratories by adding the option to run additional studies and tests according to the requirements and methodologies recognised by the Polish Register of Ships, and in particular Publication no. 11/P. Being awarded the “Certificate of Recognition” proved CTM’s competencies consisting in the capacity to run tests of equipment that constitutes elements of marine technologies in order to verify their compliance with PRS’s requirements. CTM’s constantly expanded, unique, and specialised technical facilities in connection with the certificates received enable it to provide its clients with comprehensive testing services.
“The new competencies together with more than twenty years of experience in the field and our state-of-the-art laboratory facilities together form a fertile ground for intense development of laboratory testing that will become even more comprehensive. Our laboratories’ capabilities are frequently used to carry out research and development works under domestic, NATO, or EDA programmes,” said Andrzej Kilian, President of the Board of OBR CTM S.A.
“This Certificate of Recognition is an additional factor that increases the competitiveness of CTM’s laboratories on the civilian market, in particular with respect to testing marine technologies,”added Joanna Sztiller, Vice-President of the Board of OBR CTM S.A.
